I thought I would share an occasion when I was able to capture a beautiful image when not being paid to do so! On this particular Friday we had been invited to a friends wedding as q#guests and it was great to to be able to relax and enjoy the happy day. As was usual there was a period between the ceremony and the wedding breakfast during which thew formal photographs were taken and the happy couple mingled with their guests.
Now we always like to have a camera with us and the Olympus OMD-E5 is idea as it produces incredible images whilst not drawing attention to the shooter.
One of the images we captured really caught our eye and so I decided to do a little post processing.
The original shot as taken is below and as you can see the room was very dark and so ISO was push quite a long way to 1600 to allow the shot to be taken at 1/60 at f5.6.
Even with those settings the resulting image was quite dark and flat so I imported it into Lightroom.
1. Lighten bride and make dress pop with whites slider.
2. Adjustment brush to darken distracting background
3. Adjustment brushes to selectively lighten and darken brides face to give a bit more sculpture.
4.White eyes and teeth ever so slightly using adjustment brush.
5. Reduce noise and sharpen
6. Import into OnOne Software and apply a slight 'glow' to give a fairy tale look.
Hope you agree a really nice candid image.
